Get up to £2,500 towards the cost of upgrading your data with the government’s voucher scheme

The Government’s Gigabit Voucher Scheme is back!

As a registered supplier, we’re offering eligible businesses Broadband and Ethernet packages which offer up to £2,500* towards the costs of upgrading their connectivity.

The incentive has now been rolled out across the UK and means that you could now be eligible to claim up to £2,500* towards the installation of superfast Broadband or Ethernet via one of our packages. The government has granted £2 million funding in total, we expect that this won’t last long!

Faster, more reliable connectivity can:

  • Increase productivity
  • Improve customer service delivery
  • Increase availability to cloud-based applications
  • Reduce operational costs

Who’s eligible?

  • Those in participating locations
  • With up to 249 Employees
  • With a turnover of €50m or less
  • Those with data capability less than a gigabit

Demand for greater and greater digital connectivity is set to accelerate in future years and full fibre connections will be able to support that demand: Online business applications and internet connected devices; cloud data storage and back-ups; cyber security; streamed services such as video and music; voice and video conferencing; and flexible working for employees with access to company systems.

Providing good indoor coverage has always been a challenge for mobile providers, and at the same time an increasing necessity as mobile traffic is increasingly substituting fixed traffic for business users.

To further complicate this equation new building requirements such as soundproofing and energy efficiency requirements has meant that building materials and techniques have made in-building mobile signal penetrationmuch more difficult.

MyWiFi Caller is an app for Gamma Mobile users that provides mobile voice connectivity when the user has Wifi coverage and is connected to the network.

The MyWiFi Caller app can be simply downloaded from either the Android Google Play store or Apple iOS app store. After a simple registration process, the user is ready to go.

Digital transformation at Gamma.

Digital Transformation in Gamma

12 months ago we embarked on a business transformation programme to drive digital engagement with customers and really put Customer Experience (CX) at the heart of everything we do.

Through a carefully phased implementation we’re deploying a single platform to manage the entire customer journey:

  • A single ticketing / CRM solution
  • All customer-facing and support teams use the same system to better service our customers
  • Industry leading technology providing flexibility and laying the foundation for rapid innovation that will underpin our service improvement programmes

It’s been a challenging yet insightful journey, but we’re really pleased to announce the initial deployment phase is now scheduled for 18th March.

Not only will our customer support teams now be equipped to provide much more responsive & proactive support but as a customer you can start to engage with us more though our portal:

  • Raise support cases online
  • See lists of cases raised by self/colleagues, including case reference, when raised, current status, priority, Gamma owner
  • Drill into cases, and see the details, history of status changes and Gamma / customer comments
  • See separate lists of open or closed cases or cases where Gamma needs information
  • Add updates to cases:
    – Provide missing information including attaching files
    – Request an update from Gamma
    – Confirm case is resolved
    – Request escalation
  • See Gamma updates to cases, including those associated with an incident

You’ll also be able to report against your tickets and find all the key information about who to contact in Gamma.

  • See the latest list of contacts shared with Gamma (i.e. visibility of whether Gamma has the right contact details)
  • See the names, level, email addresses and phone numbers of service desk contacts and escalation tiers
  • See the names, level, email addresses and phone numbers of account manager and escalation contacts

We’re also very busy building our next release focusing on improving our customer delivery and service management processes further. This will also come with an enriched digital CX so customers can track progress and collaborate digitally around orders and service requests.

New Horizon Mobile App

In preparation for the release of our new Unified Communications solution, we are updating the Horizon smartphone Softclient (mobile app) to support all the new features that Collaborate has to offer.

The updated smartphone softclient will require all users to re-enter their username and password in the near future.

Whilst usernames are easy enough to remember or retrieve we recognise passwords are not. With this in mind we want to help ensure your Horizon administrators are prepared for any possible questions from your workforce who are using the softclient.

  • The correct email address is saved against each softclient user in your Horizon portal.
  • If a user forgets their password, they can reset this via the ‘forgotten password’ link on the softclient, with their registered email address. If unsuccessful, the user will need to ask your Horizon administrator to reset their password.

From the end of May, all smartphone softclient users will be required to download the new Horizon app. To ensure we provide our users with the best possible service, we will switch off the existing Horizon app.

Horizon user interface update

We will soon be rolling out a long overdue new look to our Horizon user interface. This update will bring a new colour scheme, a number of technical improvements and bug fixes and provides a much improved user experience.

Horizon Softclient Instant Messaging and Presence

As of 13th March we will no longer be able to support the Softclient Instant Messaging and Presence (IM&P) feature within the Horizon Softclient. Excellent user experience is our priority and for this reason we will be removing the feature. However, the updated Softclient will continue to provide all the same calling and feature access capabilities as it currently does.

For Horizon users wanting to do more with Horizon beyond its comprehensive calling and call management capabilities, please contact us to find out more about our brand new unified communications solution, Horizon Collaborate, which will provide all of your voice calls, presence, instant messaging and conferencing all in one place.

Good news for Horizon homeworkers!

Changes to port routing for Horizon desktop clients should now allow home workers using home broadband provider services who have previously experienced connectivity issues to be able to access the Horizon desktop client without issue.
