Gamma, the UK's leading provider of SIP
trunking services, has deployed a highly resilient interconnect to
Janet, the UK's robust network infrastructure for education and
research communities.
The interconnects and associated agreement make Gamma's SIP
trunking and hosted communications services available via the Janet
high speed IP Network.
The agreement comes at a time when educational establishments and
local authorities are facing severe cost constraints. Deploying a
SIP trunking solution - which uses the existing high availability
and high bandwidth of the Janet IP network - creates the
possibility for organisations to make significant savings on
ongoing telephony costs.
Alan Mackie, Head of SIP Services at Gamma said, "We are delighted
to establish an interconnect agreement with Janet which will allow
Gamma channel partners to offer Janet connected customers a range
of SIP trunking and hosted communication services."
Alan Mackie continued, "Gamma channel partners are already
successfully providing SIP services to customers in the education
and local authorities sector. In addition to the cost savings, the
deployment of SIP trunking and cloud based communication services
can assist organisations who are looking to implement a unified
communications strategy to further enhance their operational
efficiency."
Tim Kidd, Director of Operations at Janet said, "Being connected
to Gamma means that additional voice services are available to our
customers, which is excellent news for the Janet community. The
direct interconnect that Gamma has established with the Janet
network gives education and research the ability to access voice
services without the need to purchase additional bandwidth - which
will make a huge difference to our customers."
